Important Considerations When Changing the Lickerin Drum
To ensure proper carding operation, keep these tips in mind:
-
The TPI of both the Lickerin and main drum should match, or the small Lickerin drum should be coarser than the main drum. Recommended drum configurations are: - 54 TPI Lickerin – 54 TPI Main Drum
- 54 TPI Lickerin – 72 TPI Main Drum
- 72 TPI Lickerin – 72 TPI Main Drum
- 72 TPI Lickerin – 120 TPI Main Drum
- 120 TPI Lickerin – 120 TPI Main Drum

-
Ensure the pins on both drums do not touch, and make sure they both point backward for the best results.
